Medical Equipment Recycling Network

If you have gently used medical equipment you no longer need, please consider donating it to our Medical Equipment Recycling Network. MERN is a program designed to help people with disabilities by providing essential medical equipment at no cost. MERN offers new and gently-used equipment to those who need it, thanks to the generous donations of hospitals, medical equipment suppliers, private agencies and individuals. We rely on donations and do not receive funding for this critical service.

To request a piece of equipment from MERN, call 316-942-6300 Ext.209 or contact us by email. Please contact us in advance to check on the availability of the item you need.

MERN is able to make only minor repairs, so all donated equipment must be in working condition. Among the items we are able to accept are:

  • tub transfer benches
  • shower chairs
  • grab bars
  • commodes
  • stool risers
  • lift chairs
  • folding walkers
  • wheeled walkers with a seat and brakes (Rollators)
  • wheel sets for walkers
  • non-motorized wheelchairs, especially those with a seat of 18 inches or larger
  • canes, especially quad-based canes
  • crutches
  • blood pressure kits
  • adult briefs (such as Depends)
  • nutritional supplement shakes (such as Ensure)

Donations are accepted and equipment is loaned at ILRC, 3033 W. 2nd St. North, between 8 am – 12pm and between 1pm – 4 pm. Monday through Friday. We are unable to pick up or deliver equipment. ILRC is a nonprofit organization, and donations to MERN may be tax-deductible.
