Chef Salad, Bread Sticks & Dipping Sauce

A chef salad is a main dish, an entrée. It can be the combination of

many things depending on what you like. It’s usually on a bed of

fresh crisp greens, with meats, cheeses, veggies, and egg. Make sure

to serve it cold and crisp. Use the dressing of your choice

Greens- iceberg head lettuce or romaine or spinach etc.

Meats- turkey, ham, chicken, bacon, roast beef, salami, etc.

Cheese- American, provolone, Swiss, Colby etc.

Egg- hard cooked cut in half OR deviled egg

Veggies-thin slices of green, red, orange, or yellow bell peppers, onion slices or sliced scallions,

shredded or sliced carrots, thinly sliced celery, cucumber thinly sliced, olives, avocado,

cooked & chilled asparagus, tomatoes, OR slices of fresh apple or banana or oranges!!

When you assemble the salad, start with a cold plate, and work quickly. Make it look pretty.

What is a New Year’s Resolution?

It’s a promise you make to yourself to change bad habits and establish new routines. Some time people make resolutions about stopping a behavior. “This year I am going to stop staying up late. I’m going to go to bed earlier.” Sometimes people make resolutions about beginning a behavior. The most common resolution that is made every year is “I’m going to lose weight.”

Resolutions are easier to make than to keep. By the end of March many resolutions are abandoned, and we settle back into our old habits.

Here are some tips for actually keeping your New Year’s Resolution

  • Focus on one goal at a time
  • Put some time into planning your resolution. Don’t Pick something at the last moment.
  • Start with small steps. Taking on too much too quickly

Is a common reason people fail.

  • Avoid repeating past failures. Why didn’t it work out before.
  • Remember that change is a process. Be patient with yourself.
  • Use the buddy system. Work with a friend to support each other. Tell others about your goals and ask them to help you succeed.
