Spaghetti & Cheeseburger Meatballs-

Garlic Toast-Apple Dumplings

Cheeseburger Meatballs-a surprise inside!

1/2 fresh chopped parsley

1 cup diced onion                                 STEP #1 Mix all this by hand in a large bowl

1 pound ground pork

1 pound hamburger 80/20                                                                    New Word!

Salt & Pepper                                                                             What does Al Dente mean?

1 teaspoon Garlic Powder                                             It’s Italian that means “to the tooth”

1 Tablespoon -Garlic paste or minced garlic      When cooking pasta or rice it’s the ideal

1/2 shredded parmesan                                                consistency. Eat a piece. It should be

tender but firm & chewy.

2 eggs                                                     STEP#2   Add the eggs and half the breadcrumbs

3 cups breadcrumbs                               mix well by hand. Add the remaining breadcrumbs.

Shape into 20 meatballs.

Cheese sticks-your choice             STEP#3 Before baking, insert one piece of cheese

of variety- cut into chunks                    inside each meatball

Use a baking sheet that is covered with foil. Spray the foil with cooking spray. Put the meatballs on the foil. Don’t let them touch each other. Bake at 400° Bake 15-20

Use a meat thermometer and bake until the inside of the meatball is 160°

 

 

Of course, you can make your own spaghetti sauce or use some readymade sauce.

Cook spaghetti in a large pot of boiling water. Season the water with 2 teaspoons salt. If serving the spaghetti right away, do not rinse it. One pound spaghetti will serve 8 people.

 

Homemade Garlic Toast … two loaves…Oven 350°

1st………………. Prepare the garlic butter               1. 4 cloves garlic minced

  1.    10 tablespoons butter
  2.    4 tablespoons chopped

fresh flat leaf Italian parsley,

melt all this in a frying pan

2nd…………Slice two loaves of Italian or French bread lengthwise. You will have four very long pieces of bread.

3rd…………. Cover the flat side of the bread with the butter mixture

Don’t waste a drop. Pour the extra butter all over the bread

4th…………. Sprinkle with 1 /4 cup grated Parmesan cheese.

5 th………… Place bread on a baking sheet and bake for 5 minutes at 350°

Broil for 5 minutes and slice into serving size slices.

 

 

Quick & Easy Apple Dumplings…makes 16 dumplings

2 large Granny Smith apples………………peel the apples, cut into 8 equal slices

Cut away the core part

2 rolls of crescent rolls…………………Wrap each apple slice in a crescent roll, pinch

the edges together to seal. Put into a shallow pan.

1 cup brown sugar

3/4 cup melted butter (1 ½ sticks)          Mix these things together and spoon it over each

1 heaping teaspoon cinnamon                       dumpling.

 

2/3 cup clear soda-7-Up or Sprite…Gently pour the soda around the sides of

the dumplings. Bake at 350°  Bake 33-36 minutes. Test the apples for tenderness.
