Open Faced French Toast Stack                                                                                                                This is a fancy way to eat French Toast. Top it with Sausage, and a poached egg. Add butter and syrup if you like.

6 slices of think Italian Bread

2 eggs

1 cup milk                                                                                                                   STEP#1

1 /4 teaspoon nutmeg (optional)                                                                        Mix this together in as bowl using a whisk.

1 / 4 teaspoon cinnamon                                                                                       This is the batter for the French toast bread.

3 tablespoons butter                                                                                              STEP#2 Put a bit of the butter on a hot

Pancake syrup                                                                                                           or frying pan and let it melt. Dip the bread                                                                                                                                                    in the batter, coating both sides. Put it on the

Hot griddle to fry and get nicely golden brown.

Sausage Of course there are many ways to make sausage. Some start from the raw state and some others are pre-cooked. You might also prefer ham or bacon. For this lesson we will use precooked patties or links.

Egg on Top You might like scrambled eggs, or fried eggs or even hard cooked eggs, but here are the instructions for making a perfect poached egg.

The Perfect Poached Egg

  1. The most perfect poached egg is made with a very fresh egg. If your eggs have been in the refrigerator awhile to do. Carefully break the egg into a small sieve. The very liquid part of the egg white will fall through and that’s good. Then put the egg into a small bowl or ramekin.
  2. Use a deep pot and fill it 2-3 inches with water, add 1 tablespoon of white or apple cider vinegar. Bring the water to a boil and then reduce the temperature so that no bubbles break to the surface.
  3. Using a spoon swirl the water into a vortex, like a tiny tornado. Drop the egg carefully into the middle. The swirling of the water will make the egg white wrap around the yolk. Cook for 3 minutes or a little longer if you like firm eggs.
  4. Lift the egg out with a slotted spoon. Dab the bottom of the spoon on a towel. Serve!

3 Ingredients to Make Cake Mix Cookies

  • Box of Cake Mix:Use any type of mix you like, any brand and any flavor. Grab a standard size box mix (15.25 ounces) for this recipes.
  • Eggs:Use 2 eggs (a cake mix will call for 3, but only use 2 when making cookies).
  • Oil:Vegetable oil works best here. You’ll need ½ cup of oil per standard box of cake mix. You can substitute the same amount of melted butter if you prefer.
  • Add-ins & Toppings (optional):chocolate chips, caramel bits, powdered sugar, flavor extracts, food coloring, nuts, candies, cinnamon, sprinkles, marshmallows, M&Ms, raisins, sprinkles etc. with frosting on top!

Instructions

1.In a large mixing bowl, combine dry cake mix, eggs, and oil.

2.Scoop the dough into balls and drop onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

3.Bake cookies at 350°F for 8-12 minutes.

4.Let the cookies cool on the pan for at least 5 minutes before eating or moving to a cooling rack.

  • If your dough seems a little sticky, try adding a bit of all-purpose flour!

Storage: Store cooled cake mix cookies in a resealable bag or airtight container at room

Temperature.

Tips for the Best Cakey Cookies

  • Chill your cookie dough. After placing scoops of dough onto the baking sheet, place it in the refrigerator for 5-15 minutes (however much time you have). This will help the cookies keep their shape instead of going flat in the oven. This step helps if you’re baking in a warm kitchen.
  • Use butter instead of oil.Either one works and they both lead to delicious cookies. Oil will give you a slightly crisper result (like traditional cookies), while butter should give you extra rich, cake-y and fluffy cookies.
  • Sift the dry cake mix. This will help remove clumps and add a little more airiness to the texture.
  • Don’t over-mix the batter.Just mix until the dry ingredients are fully moistened. Overmixing can lead to tough cookies!
