Soup-Sandwich and Fruit Salad

Ham & Cheese Melts-This is a quick and yummy sandwich

STEP#1 Use a round roll (like a hamburger roll) or bread. Place ham and cheese on the roll and wrap it in foil.

STEP#2 Put the roll on a baking sheet and heat in the oven at 300° for about 30 minutes, until it’s nice and melty.


Classic Tomato Soup –Of course you can make your own tomato soup easily from canned crushed tomatoes, but the classic tomato soup is always a favorite.

STEP#1 Use any brand of canned tomato soup you like. Put the soup in a saucepan or microwave safe bowl.

STEP#2 Dilute the soup with a can of water or milk. Add a bit of butter and salt and pepper.

STEP#3 Heat gently over medium heat until warmed through. It does not have to boil.

STEP#4 Serve with crackers or croutons.

Fruit Salad -Fruit salad can be made from any combination of fresh and canned or frozen fruits. Make what you like.

1 can of sliced peaches (cut them into smaller pieces)

1 can of sliced pears (cut them into smaller pieces)

1 can of fruit cocktail

1 fresh apple* (cut it into small pieces)

1 fresh orange (cut into small pieces)

1 fresh banana* (slice this)

1 can of pineapple tidbits or crushed pineapple.

*If you are going to make and eat this fruit salad right away go ahead and enjoy BUT if you want to eat it later remember than apples and bananas will turn brown after being cut. Put some Sprite (or lemon lime soda) in a bowl and dip the apples and bananas in it to prevent browning.

Add-Ins-You might like to add mini marshmallows, chopped nuts, melon, strawberries, or squares of Jello.

Prepare the fruit above, mix in a bowl and refrigerate until serving time.
