Youth Transition Program
ILRC’s Youth Transition Program Helps Transition from High School to Adulthood
ILRC’s transitional youth program empowers students with disabilities as they move from high school to independent living and further their education or employment.
Our Youth Transition Program provides a comprehensive curriculum including:
- Life skills training
- Career exploration
- Job readiness workshops
ILRC’s dedicated staff offers personalized support to help students set realistic goals and create individualized plans. We encourage self-advocacy and confidence-building by fostering a supportive environment that prepares participants to tackle adulthood’s challenges. Through community partnerships and real-world experiences, the Youth Transition Program helps students transition smoothly into their next chapter.
How Our Program Helps
- Parents – Our transition programs help parents of disabled children by equipping them with essential life skills and fostering independence, easing the transition into adulthood. These programs also provide a supportive community and resources that reduce parental stress. They also empower families to advocate for their children.
- Students – In addition to a personalized plan for job readiness skills, our program connects youth to community resources, education, and employment opportunities. This empowers students to achieve their goals.
- Community Members – Because we provide training, career preparation, and access to local resources – community members are vital in referring students who can benefit from personalized support and real-world experiences. Together, we can help youth achieve independence, ensuring a brighter, more successful future for our students!
