MERN

We Offer Medical Equipment for Free to Those In Need

If you have gently used medical equipment, you no longer need, please consider donating it to our Medical Equipment Recycling Network. MERN is a program designed to help people with disabilities by providing essential medical equipment at little to no cost. MERN offers new and gently-used equipment to those who need it, thanks to the generous donations of hospitals, medical equipment suppliers, private agencies, and individuals.

Donate Gently Used Medical Equipment

We rely on donations and do not receive funding for this critical service. We request a $10 refundable deposit on equipment loaned through the MERN program. This deposit is refunded if the equipment is returned within 90 days of the loan. If a longer term is requested, the loan period can be extended if you contact us to request an extension. Deposits for items beyond the 90-day loan help repair or replace equipment for the next borrower.

Donating and Borrowing Equipment at ILRC

Donations are accepted and equipment is loaned at ILRC, 3033 W. 2nd St. North, between 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. and between 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. We are unable to pick up or deliver equipment. ILRC is a nonprofit organization, and donations to MERN may be tax-deductible. To request a piece of equipment from MERN, call 316-942-6300 Ext. 1209 or contact us online. Please contact us in advance to check on the availability of the item you need.
