Disability Advocates 4 Action (DA4A) Meeting
Disability Advocates 4 Action (DA4A) is a group of concerned citizens who come together to talk about and take action on issues that people with disabilities face. Issues include transportation, housing, public policy, and legislation that affects people with disabilities.
Need help to balance your checkbook? Can’t figure out why there’s too much month at the end of your money? Call an advocate to set up a time to create a personal budget.
Computer Lab & Skills Training
Use the computers at your leisure or schedule a time with an IL Services advocate. Improve your basic computer skills such as keyboarding, Internet browsing, and Microsoft Office.
For people with little to no cooking experience. Learn basic cooking skills, safety in the kitchen, and healthy eating habits.
For the moderate to advanced cook. Come and socialize with other cooking enthusiasts. Participants decide what to cook and bring grocery items to create the meal, all while enjoying each other’s company.
Leaders are not born, they are made. Learn basic leadership skills such as what it takes to be a leader and the most important duties of a leader.
Women’s Peer Support Group
Come socialize with your fellow female peers. This group loves to talk and have fun, and make friends.
Men’s Peer Support Group
Come socialize with your fellow male peers, play pool, and hang out with the guys.
Arts & Crafts
Do you enjoy music? Do you enjoy art? Are you a crafty person? Join this group to learn and enjoy music, arts, and crafts.
It’s a group of people with all types of disabilities that come together to discuss their lives, their joys, their worries and be a positive support for one another. Everyone needs help and gets stuck from time to time. Just talking to other people in the same shoes helps, plus...attending is fun!
Music & Movement
ILRC offers Music and Movement Fitness Class - a fun workout program for individuals with all types of disabilities, both permanent and temporary. Music and Movement Fitness Class is about having fun and exercising with others. The exercise class is customized to your ability, including how to exercise from a sitting position. Talk to your doctor, physical therapist, or other health care provider about activities suitable for your medical condition and mobility level.
